Idyllwild is Dog Friendly, many shops and stores invite both pet and owner. From trails to parks we welcome your furry family member. Enjoy bringing your doggy to many of the spots and businesses in town.

Having said that, we do ask that you honor each business and residents wishes when it comes to your pet partner.
There are many trails for your canine to join you, there are also trails in which they are not allowed, please make note as you plan your day 🙂
Trails are generally marked at entrance and/or up the trail a-ways where pets can’t go beyond a given point.
We do have a county lease law in effect, also, remember that when you are in the wilderness, off leash pets attract predators at a higher level than leashed, please don’t put your pet member at much greater risk by allowing them to be loose.
Not everyone you meet on the trail is accepting of your pet partner, remember some folks have been traumatized by dog attacks, so… on leash will allow them to feel that your loving pet partner, whom they are not familiar with, will be under control of it’s owner. And not leaving your poop bags on the trail is thoughtful, it would be better not to use them at all then to leave them as garbage. We don’t have poop patrol people to pick up the bags. 🙂
