An Idyllwild tradition is the annual Great Pumpkin Carnival!  Because we’re located in a small mountain community, we have no sidewalks, very few streetlights, many “second homes”, and our homes are spread far apart, Idyllwild holds a town Halloween carnival rather than doing typical house-to-house trick-or-treating.  The Great Pumpkin Festival begins with a costume parade starting at the top of North Circle Drive at 4:15pm on Halloween, which ends in the center of town.  There, kids can trick-or-treat at local businesses and attend the carnival from 5:00pm to 7:00pm that surrounds Idy Park, which includes games, food stands, costume contests for children and adults, and much more!
