A Taste of Idyllwild at Idyllwild Brewpub
More than a village, a town, or an “incorporated community”, Idyllwild is a real community. At the heart of our community is the Idyllwild Brewpub, which brings everyone together for a cold beer, a hot meal, and a taste of Idyllwild. The gathering place for locals, visitors, and even Mayor Max, Idyllwild Brewpub showcases some of the community’s favorite flavors. For a taste of Idyllwild, and a sense of belonging, check out these community favorites on the menu.
Local favorite Black Mountain Coffee powers Idyllwild Brewpub’s coffee program. Black Mountain thoughtfully sources and roasts their beans; with a focus on bringing out the unique characteristics of each batch. If you can’t visit their shop for a tasting, or want to see how their coffee can be transformed into something new, head to Idyllwild Brewpub, where Black Mountain Coffee can be found in cocktails, mocktails, on draft and batch brew. Don’t miss the Mountain Cabin Spritz, which blends Black Mountain Nitro Coldbrew with lemon, basil and tonic, or the Black Mountain Carajil— better than an espresso martini, it’s Black Mountain espresso, shaken with Licor 43, and black walnut bitters.
When the snow flies, as it has this month, a warm cup of tea is almost even more inviting than a cocktail. Merkaba is the cutest little tea shop, and has been part of the Idyllwild community for more than 20 years. Their teas and herbal blends are the perfect way to finish a meal, or warm up on a cold day. Their shop closes at 5pm, but you can enjoy their blends at Brewpub on a warm or cold evening.
On the flip side, a getaway isn’t complete without ice cream, and you can taste Idyllwild’s best ice cream in the desserts at Idyllwild Brewpub. Idyllwild Ice Cream has been a cherished part of the town since 1970. The Campolong family makes their ice cream fresh, serving 24 flavors every day. Their Graham Cracker Chunk Ice cream is the start of the Brewpub’s S’mores Sundae, where it’s topped with chocolate sauce made from the brewery’s stout beer, whipped cream and toasted marshmallows.
Whether you’re looking for a taste of community, or spent so long on the trail that you missed your chance to tour the town, Idyllwild Brewpub offers a chance to try the best of what Idyllwild has to offer.
