Flag over IDY Park in Idyllwild Calfornia

Honoring Veterans and First Responders Memorial Day Weekend

Changing of the Colors
11:50am, Saturday May 23, 2026

This Memorial Day weekend, Idyllwild will honor veterans and first responders at a Changing of the Colors ceremony at Idypark.

On Saturday, May 23, just prior to noon, veterans, first responders and the community will be welcomed to Idypark. At noon sharp, the Changing of the Colors will begin. The 12′ x 18′ flag over Idypark will be retired by a honor guard from American Legion Post 800, and a new flag will be raised. Please join us to honor our veterans and first responders this Memorial Day weekend.

The Changing of the Colors is sponsored by Idyllwild Brewpub, which offers a 10% discount to veterans and first responders throughout the year.

About Idypark

Idypark was dedicated in honor of veterans and first responders on Memorial Day weekend in 2018. At the center of the park, a 50-foot flagpole holds a 18’x 12′ US flag that is visible from around the town. Majestic sequoias, sculptures by local artists, and serene walking paths make Idypark an important part of the community, and a peaceful retreat.
